The Bikram Method

Bikram Yoga is the original hot yoga method— a proven 90 minute sequence of 26 traditional yoga postures developed by Bikram Choudhury of Calcutta, India. Bikram yoga was introduced in 1973 to the United States and now practiced in over 600 certified studios worldwide.
The Bikram method works every part of the body, giving all the organs, arteries, veins, ligaments, and muscles everything they need to maintain optimum health and maximum function. The sequence is designed so each posture balances out the previous one and prepares you for the next one—allowing for a safe, progressive, life-long practice.

Yoga + Heat

Yoga flushes away the toxins of all the glands and organs of your body. It provides a natural irrigation of the body through the circulatory system, with the help of the respiratory system. It brings nourishments to every cell of your body so that each one can perform its function and keep your body healthy. Yoga changes the body and mind inside and out, from bones to skin, from fingertips to toes. Bikram Yoga uses heat to further that cleaning process: The more you sweat, the more impurities are flushed out of the body through the skin. The heat provides a safe, effective environment for yoga therapy—enhancing blood circulation by opening up blood vessels, restoring energy and releasing stress.
At BYI, we keep it simple. There is one class and one level for all students. Beginners with zero experience can safely practice and receive 100% benefit every time. The idea is that you move to your own degree of flexibility, strength, balance and endurance. The same sequence of postures is practiced every time, offering you a consistent experience and allowing you to move at your own pace as your practice evolves. Our certified teachers verbally guide you through every posture to ensure you receive 100% benefit.
